ES

She is BF's sidekick.  Wherever BF goes, she shall follow.  They are great friends, don't get me wrong, but there definitely is a balance of power.

And they are both characters, and foils.  BF is positively all over the place, ES is calm and collected, very straightforward.  If you were to write a movie, these two characters would be a comedy team.  Every now and then throughout the show, BF would come up with an idea, and ES would just be like, "Here we go again..." or something like that.

There are two instances that I would like to recall for you.

• This took place early on in the rehearsal process.  BF came up to me saying that she and ES had a few questions.  Actually it was more like BF had a few questions, and they were written on ES's hand.  During this session, BF asked me for my phone number, and whether or not I would be her expert for her CSI project.  ES had nothing to gain.
• The second one actually took place in rehearsal today.  BF decided to put ES's hair up with a hair clip.  It looked ridiculous.  But BF wouldn't let her take it off.  She said that she looked like a librarian.  But ES kept it in.  She seemed really embarrassed, but I can't think of another reason for her to keep it in except that BF told her to.

Do you get the picture?  Don't get me wrong.  There is no hostility between the two whatsoever.  It's just that when BF texts me saying that if I don't get a lead she and ES will protest to Mr. V, I really wonder whether ES would actually protest, or just stand there in the background and watched BF protest.  (Note: No protest was necessary, or took place.)
